Yummy Cinn. Bun Substitute, to easy not to share.

I stumbled upon this recipe and it's too easy, and too ooey gooey goodness not to share with you :)

SUPER shortcut for cinnamon rolls, plus have you read the crap they put in those refridgerated rolls???

Noooo Thank You

This is healthier, yummier, and I bet you can pronounce everything that goes into the recipe...

Ready???

YUMMERS!!

Here's what you'll need for the bread

1 loaf bakery fresh sourdough bread, round loaves work best
1/2 cup butter ( I used Smart Balance spread, no hydrogenated oils, and I feel like I can use more butter if it's psuedo butter)
1/4 cup powdered suger
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cinnamon (adjust to your tastes)

For the toping

1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp milk depending on desired consistance

Get that oven warmed up to 350 degrees

Now...

Whip your butter and sugar together until they are smooth then  stir in your honey and vanilla

Now Cut your bread lengthwise without going through to the bottom into 1/2 inch segments
Spread your vanilla honey butter between these segments
Slice bread the opposite way and spread the butter between these 1/2 inch segments
Make sure you get butter in allll the nooks and crannies :)
Once you're all buttered up, sprinkle cinnamon over the top and in between the buttered bread

Wrap that yummy loaf in foil  place on a baking sheet bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes

Take it out, unfold the foil and mix up the sugar and milk still it's just right and pour over your hot bread...
Serve ... eat...enjoy...

People will think you are AMAZING!

Easy Fast Dinner

With stuff you can actually find in your cupboard or in my case... a teenytiny grocery store.

I'm a HUGE fan of food, i'm not that great of a cook... slight problem right?
I'm also sooo sick of making the same 10 dishes over and over again, sick of cooking them, sick of eating them, just bored :( So I have been hooked on http://www.pintrest.com/ and I have tried several recipes. Here's one that was a winner in 3 ways. 1. it was easy 2. it was cheap 3. it was yummy

HERE IT IS ... start salivating ...... now!

Italian Sausage Noodle Bake :)

Now, I modified it from this original recipe juuuust a little to fit my tastes... and my undying love for cheese

Here's what you'll need

1 lb italian sausage
1 lb rotini or spiral noodles

1 jar of 4 cheese spaghetti sauce... I found 6 cheese sauce and heard a chorus of angels ~!
1 bag mozzerella cheese (shredded)
1 bag italian blend cheese ( shredded)

What to do with that stuff....

1. boil water, and cook up those noodles
2. while you are watching your noodles cook your sausage thoroughly. I added some italian seasonings and just a pinch of red pepper flakes cause I like a lil' bite

3. Once your noodles have reached al'dente consistency, drain them and toss them into a large bowl.

4. when your sausage is cooked through throw that in the bowl with the noodles.
3. dump in your pasta sauce

4. Here's where things went down hill.. the recipe calls for a cup of mozzerella in the mix... I put two because Cheese is the fairy dust of the dairy world...

Once you have combined those things mix them thoroughly. Get an oven safe pan, spray Pam, or olive oil in the pan, preheat your oven to 350, put your mixture in your baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes depending on your oven.. keep an eye on it cause you don't want your noodles to dry out. after 15-20 sprinkle more cheese on top... I probably put another cup on there... but if you have lactose problems or are watching your waisteline like me... oh hell, go cheese CRAZY!

Bake untill cheese is melty and gooey... remove from oven...

EAT
SMILE :)

Diet Over Here Diet Over There

There are SOOO many diets out there. I'm getting started a little late, but I got out my summer clothes and I have to face the fact that my capris are a liiiiittle tighter than I would like. So I need to drop 5-10 lbs that I have gained since my other half got back from AFG.
After reseraching online here are some of the diet names and descriptions I have found....

Paleo Diet- literally, eat like a caveman. low carb, lots of meat and friuts and veggies

The Dukan Diet- claims to be french.. who knows... but you jump start the diet with nothing but water basically, then add foods in slowely and in tiny amounts.
Reminds me of the diet book, French Women Don't Get Fat

There's the Blood Type Diet- this suggests specific types of food based on your blood type

There's the HCG diet where you get injected with a HCG combination and restrict your caloric intake to 500 calories per day (duh they could inject you with sugar water and you would lose weight eating 500 cals per day )

The Glycemic Index where you figure out the index for each of your foods

You can be Vegan if you're bored and really want to suck the joy out of your life

The Zone Diets - I'm not sure what this is about just another name/type for the diet

Dr. Phil's Diet, Bob Greene's Diet, Suzanne Summers' Diet frankly by this point I have lost interest.

Although the diet industry is a multi billion dollar industry the formula is simple, and I'm not quite sure what people are looking for...

fewer calories in + more calories burned = weight loss

No matter what or who's name is attached to it...

All the Slightly Single Ladies

Weekend away! Road trip down to our state's capital for the Family Readiness Conference this weekend. I am hoping to learn some usefull information to bring back to our base to use for our Family Readiness Group. It's hard to get people involved but it's nice to know you can be there if someone needs you. I'm excited to hobnob, and get some more information / resources. That being said the two ladies I'm going with are good friends of mine and none of us travel light. We are driving there in a mini cooper so it's going to be three girls and a lot of LITERAL baggage. Also my two friends are both on super restrictive diets... one is doing the HGH? is that what it's called and she can only eat like 500-700 calories per week the other is doing low carb... Me? I'm doing the I eat what I want cause I starved myself all week diet :) hoping to squeeze a little shopping in too while I'm down there since Columbus has lots of great stores that people where live have never even heard of but then I'm also not flush in the money department (who is these days) So this will be the broke, hungry girl's weekend away... We'll see how that works out.
